Taking care of you before and after waxing
-
Avoid exposure to sunlight or ultra-violet rays immediately before waxing and for 24 hours after treatment.
-
Avoid perfumed soaps, creams and deodorants containing alcohol, which may aggravate the area. Avoid very hot baths, saunas and steam baths for 24 hours after the treatment.
-
Avoid wearing tight clothing after treatment that may cause friction. Ideally wear 100% cotton underwear after Brazilian, Hollywood or California treatment.
-
Men having their chest waxed may notice some spots for the first few sessions due to the sensitivity of skin in this area. This is normal and can occur with all types of waxing. With regular treatments fewer spots will occur over time.
-
Avoid touching any waxed areas, especially your face, without first washing your hands. The waxing will open the pores in your skin and touching them with unwashed hands can cause spots.
-
Do not have wax treatments to any areas of your face you plan to have a skin peel or dermatological creams.
-
It is normal for your skin to be a bit pink or red after waxing treatment.
-
Make sure your waxing professional is using disposable materials including gloves, tweezers, couch roll and wooden spatulas.
-
Avoid waxing areas on which you are using self-tanning creams as it can cause differences in colour.
-
Avoid having your treatment a few days before your monthly period starts, as the body is more sensitive at this time.
